island Zanzibar last summer.
I started making this pattern whilst visiting the wonderful island Zanzibar last summer. I was completely taken by all the wonderful things I saw and experienced during my 9 days there. On the first part of the trip we stayed at Mnana lodge (can highly recommend it) and I really got to relax and, of course, to paint.
This pattern has since then become one of my absolute favorites, and I wanted to place it where I can enjoy it everyday. So today I turned this organic cotton sateen version of it into a curtain separating the bedroom from the living room. But since I still think that it will become a dress someday I didn’t want to make holes in it so I used brass paperclips and nylon thread to hang it. The brass complements the colors nicely if I may say so myself.
