These fabrics were created to be sewn into skirts and loose tops for the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Humanities Symposium 2012 in the US. The project is Identity, and what it means to put on, or take off an identity. Gallery viewers will have the opportunity to wear or wrap the garments around them as they view the other displays. People speak of "wearing different hats" at work and at home. It is valuable to examine the idea that you are not your identity, that you can take on one identity or another, but your underlying self is something else, something other.
