The Great Barrier Reef is the world's largest coral reef and the largest living structure on the planet, stretching for 2300 kilometres. It is comprised of thousands of reefs and is home to a breathtaking array of plants and animals. This beautiful natural ecosystem is in great need of protection from climate change - the extreme changes in ocean temperatures have caused mass coral bleaching and death and if nothing changes, the whole reef may be extinct in 20 years. We need to urge politicians to reduce coal, oil and gas emissions or this unique reef ecosystem and all life it has may disappear forever.
