Ginseng is not depleted enough for state-protected status; it quietly scatters across forest floors. American Ginseng --Panax quinquefolis Panax from Greek 'pan' (all) and 'akos' (remedy) Design color is more gingerbread brown than the actual dusty beige of ginseng roots. In yardage, it ends up a rustic plaid.
