NOTICE: This fabric is not a symmetrical design. Be sure to understand that not everything "lines up perfectly" and plan your work with this in mind. Weather vanes decorated the prows of Norse ships. Supported by a metal rod, it was free to rotate, the holes along the edge holding streamers to indicate the direction and intensity of the wind. The original for this Mammen style was ornate and finely wrought in gilded bronze. The pattern works well for me - perfect for inspired design - and is one of my first explorations into fabric design. (this is made for 56' yards)
