The repeating pattern in Basic, Half-drop, or Half-brick (my favorite as shown in the layout) is wonderful for a baby throw in minky or fleece to add just a touch of color and fun.
Cotton poplin is a great fabric choice - sturdy with a smooth, nice hand to it.
