celebration of Australia Day, January 26.
Having spent most of my formative years in a town called Bundaberg, we were able to avail of both environments...sea and the country. Bundaberg is small crops and sugar cane town nestled on the east coast of Australia. I was a swimmer and lived by the pool or at the beach. Luckily for us, Bundaberg is at what is considered to be 'the very bottom' of the reef. Well we told ourselves we were. Pristine reefs and beautiful clear water, uninterrupted by tourists, was my childhood (and early teens) playground. That's changed a bit now and Bundaberg is considered to be on the 'Coral Coast. I could talk for hours about the sights I saw off the coast of my home town.
