2016 Spoonchallenge.
This design is sweet as sugar, yet bold and lively, just like my friend Marsha Greenberg of Hankie Couture, the inspiration for the design. The watercolor design is a tribute to my affection for Marsha since our affiliation in 2008. In one vignette, a Hankie Couture doll wears a dress made from a vintage handkerchief. I painted it by hand with watercolors on smooth (hotpress) Arches paper in autumn 2009. The border is my color-play with the flowers in the hanky. The second vignette has enlarged tulip flowers (from the doll dress) in the center. Click these links to see the original watercolors. I welcome your suggestions, since I might like to add more blocks or thin stripes to it.
