My father's mother (AKA my grandmother) lived on the fourth floor of a New York City apartment building where the only gardening space there was, was a windowsill next to the fire escape ladder. She grew geraniums in flower pots there. They were the most misshapen and pathetic plants that ever tried to bloom. These green geraniums with their colorful pink halos and art nouveau twisting vines, are what Grandma Jenny's geraniums wanted to be when they grew up. (file y107b2, #4925531)
