little birds too! Also available in oversize.
There's a wonderful (true) story associated with New Zealand's Chatham Island Black Robin. The Black Robins were on the brink of extinction in 1979. The population consisted of just 5 individual out of which only one of the two females could lay fertile eggs. This bird was called 'Old Blue'. Through the efforts of 'Old Blue' and conservation workers led by Don Merton there is now a population of over 200 birds. Conservation status of this tiny little bird is 'nationally critical' (which is a whole lot better than 'extinct').
