background.
This Fabric is the main fabric in my Aurora Borealis series. Each star is centered in its own square. There are thirty different stars in each yard of cotton fabric and 35 in one yard of silky faille. They are divided by thin white lines and can be cut into 6 1/2 inch squares. I designed this fabric using Kaleidoscope Kreator and a photograph of the Northern Lights that my brother took outside of Fairbanks in Alaska. My goal is to make him a quilt using this fabric, so he and his wife can cuddle under the northern lights. This fabric would make great stand alone quilt blocks or mug rugs. You can also leave it uncut and use it as a cheater quilt. It turns out really great as gift wrap and would make unusual wallpaper.
