The National Museum of Denmark holds many a treasure from the Viking Age. The grave from Mammen was discovered by a farmer, when in 1868, he began to dig into the mound Bjerringhøj at Mammen near Viborg. He'd uncovered many a treasure, but one of them has captured the public's wonder since it first came to light again. One of Viking axes from Mammen grave has not only served as inspiration of generations of craft people, but has an entire northern art style named after it!
