Ah yes, rhinoplasty...the old nose job...our little rhino went from sad to happy in no time at all. Just a little plastic surgery and we'll all be perfect again! ;o) But seriously, in an attempt to save the rhinos from total extinction, their horns are removed (de-horning) in the hope that this will stop poachers from killing them for their horns. Even with these efforts these beautiful creatures still remain on the critically endangered species list. Let's hope that changes someday.
PLEASE NOTE: Although all rhinos are protected on reserves the poaching of rhino horn is a huge problem and the practice of de-horning is often carried out as a preventative measure.
