overlooked plants. Imagine a big sky above you!
Once upon a time, I took a bus trip across America. The Northern route. One morning I woke up to find myself in the Badlands of South Dakota. Jaw dropping is an understatement. Traveling across South Dakota was the first time I experienced prairie grasses as far as the eye could see. We were told if there was a fire 8 miles away, you could see the smoke. It was so wide open, I thought I might fall off of the planet--nothing to tether me to earth. But, I had only to look down to see a microcosm of prairie plants, including more wild grasses than I could name. The patterns at my feet were in stark contrast to the wide open vistas. I tried to capture a bit of the feeling of being knee deep in prairie grass in this print. But I did you a favor: I left out the rattlesnakes! (If you would like this pattern in a different scale or colorway, please message me. I will do my best to work with you.)
