Over the millennia, humans have invented a lot of monsters with which to scare themselves and other people. The most powerful of these imaginary monsters are called gods and tend to get worshipped by their believers. But the ancient Greeks had quite a lot of only slightly lesser monsters in their mythology too. Among these were the gorgons - with snakes for hair, poisonous blood and the power to turn beings to stone at a glance.
