Constructed with both a rod pocket and 3.5" (9 cm) back tabs for a gathered or a pleated look. 50" (127 cm) wide panels feature generous 4" (10 cm) bottom hems.

Since I was a child, I was interested in Tolkien's heraldic devices on the cover of the boxed set of the Lord of the Rings (a mid-1970s Ballantine Books edition my parents had). This is my version of the device Tolkien created for Fingolfin, a son of the first king of the Noldor Elves. I used Photoshop to make this, using a scan of the original image to match the colors but drawing the image myself. the combination of yellow and navy blue makes a nice impression, I think.
