I noticed the appearance of what looked like a cat or squirrel face while I was revising some old unpublished abstract designs. Changing the repeat from basic to mirror revealed what looked like other abstract stylized faces also though the squirrel was the cutest so I added him to my original challenge entry just for fun.

Soft colored pencils for blending were used to create the hand drawn faces and sun rays which were then digitally recolored, clipped and cropped to combine in to one seamless repeating pattern.
