The bright colors of the prickly pear are just beautiful framed by a vivid rose pink background. I loved painting the cacti. A customer clued me in to this impressive plant. I had to research this one, because we certainly can't grow them up north. The colorful blossoms yield to an unusual fruit. My daughter purchased one of the fruits in Chicago, but I think I have to make the trip to the desert to get a true taste of this southwest favorite.
