There is a stigma surrounding lung that people bring it on themselves. Lung cancer studies are underfunded because of the stigma that surrounds it. Lung cancer can be caused by our genes, secondhand smoke, pollution, toxic gasses including radon that is an odorless gas that can leak into your house. In fact, radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer. Lung cancer is the deadliest cancer there is. Lung cancer also kills twice as many women as breast cancer. Over half of people diagnosed with cancer are not current smokers. I dedicate this fabric design to my Mom, whom died of lung cancer at age 37, and my Dad who has been diagnosed with it this past year. They are /were both non smokers. Sadly they like thousands of other lung cancer victims will never know what caused them to get this disease. BUT even if they were smokers, no one deserves to live OR die this way.
