odd-shaped pieces to stitch around! But, this is kind
Don't know how you'd make this if it was a traditionally pieced quilt, there's a million little odd-shaped pieces to stitch around! But, this is kind of a personal project, and that's the beauty of a cheater quilt! I designed this from a photograph I took a couple years ago of the Queensboro bridge having repairs done while visiting my brother in Brooklyn. This bridge actually celebrated it's 100th anniversary last year, one of six NYC bridges that are atleast 100 years old.
If I can find the time (and the patience), I plan on actually attempting this quilt and possibly stitching in some birds on the wires, a few faded planes peeking out of the clouds or maybe sign my name as grafitti on a lower corner of a bridge support. There are just a few pale quilting lines (like marking the corner miters), but for the most part it's open to however much or little embellishment is desired.
