check inspired by the tiled floors at number 39.
The Foxe and Boxe collection takes its inspiration from the settings and characters in my forthcoming book, Foxe and Boxe at Home. A chance purchase of a battered old dollhouse, then of two antique animal figures, led to photographs on social media with captions and dialogues, Thanks to reader response, the story took on a life of its own. The title characters, Mr Foxe and Mr Boxe, are fine dressmakers who, encouraged by their early success and a promise of financial backing from a wealthy client, move their home and workshop from the woods to a townhouse at 39, Eglantine Crescent. In finishing and furnishing the house, I have taken special care to include antique and handmade textiles of many varieties, including lace, embroidery, weaving, and knitting.
