Even if you've never been to a childhood sleep away camp, I can guarantee you have seen some of the child-made arts and crafts projects the campers brought home. These winged flowers on trellis totems remind me of those projects, not because they look anything like what children make, but because the central oval form between the diamonds has a Southwestern Indian feeling, as does the totem pole aspect of the argyle diamond checks. Through at least the 1960's these camps often specialized in phony Indian mascots, feather costumes, and names, to the point that if I said Camp Ho-Kum-Poe-kum you might even think that was a real camp's name. There is nothing at all really native American in this design but it looks so spot on fake Indian to me, that I shall name it for one of those sleep-away summer camps. In my case it is the size I personally wanted for my eight inch proof of the design. Because this is custom printing designs can be made in any (technically possible and reasonable looking) size. You can even order the same design in two sizes, such as a yard of big and a yard of small, to use together. This does take communication and co-ordination with the artist. But do not think that the scale you see on the screen is the only way the design comes. If you need tiny and the design is big, or the reverse, you can buy a design you like that way.
