I remember how I drew Pysanky for the first in art school and after I made pysanky together with my grandma before Easter. Of course, they weren't so complicated as on the pattern now, just simple lines, flowers, and dots, but the best thing was the whole process. Before drawing patterns now, I did some research, because all the regions in Ukraine have their own unique patterns, shapes, and colors. Traditionally every symbol/color/line means something: red - love, black - long life, tree - good health, birds - good news, etc. My illustration was inspired by the Western part of Ukraine as I grew up there. Of course, I put some modern shapes, vivid colors and composed them in a seamless pattern. Hope you like my design!
