Each country, region, and/or neighborhood has own vocabulary. Alaska also has its own terms about lifestyle, climate and cultures. For example, the word "Cheechako" is one term that means a person who is a newcomer to Alaska and does not have Alaskan knowledge. On the contrary, the term "Sourdough" means a person who has been in Alaska a long time and survived. If you understood these Alaskan terms, you are on route from "Cheechako" to "Sourdough."
