But if I sit and knit in the those same places, I always have a conversation with someone I have never met before. It's like knowing a secret handshake. Someone will ask what I am knitting. Another knitter will ask about the yarn. Someone will comment "my mom does that." A little kid will ask what I am doing or will watch with big eyes. I've taught knitters, I have learned from knitters and I have shared moments with knitters that don't speak the same language I do.
