springtime. Painted in oil, multi-directional
© Nancy Lee Moran
Fabric repeat is nine inches (square).
Decorative and painterly, this pattern would be pretty in a garden room or child’s room. It would be comforting in a pediatric clinic, too.
Viola flowers are also named Johnny Jump Ups and wild pansies. The difference between violas (tiny) and pansies is mostly one of size. One of a group of rare edible flowers, voila blooms can be picked, washed and added to salads and ice cubes.
The design arose from three of my oil paintings.
Links to the three oil paintings follow (on Fine Art America):
Violas come from “Tulip Playground.” (https://fineartamerica.com/featured/tulip-playground-nancy-lee-moran.html)
Bluebirds come from “Pansies and Bluebird” (https://fineartamerica.com/featured/pansies-and-bluebird-nancy-lee-moran.html)
“Daisies, Roses, And Tulips” (https://fineartamerica.com/featured/daisies-roses-and-tulips-nancy-lee-moran.html)
The textured drawing (hand-drawn) behind the violas and birds also appears on my "Whispering Daydreams" fabric collection.
It comes in three colors: pale yellow, blue, and lavender.
It comes in three sizes: one-inch, two-inch, and four-inch figures.
