They are my attempts at 2 shades of indigo dye. Virtual antique Japanese stamped indigo fabric! __
The background is slightly textured. This is the more open version of this fabric, with the flowers separated from each other. More suitable, I think, for curtains and clothing, while I like the other for cushions. These colors print very much as you see them here. __
Oct 2011 update: turns out that although these stamps came from Japan, they were made in India.
Dec 2012 update: I have adjusted the intensity and contrast to compensate for the duller color in the new printing system, to get back the soft but rich color it had before.___ July 2020 update: The printing system now is very bright and blue. It does look like what I see on my screen.
There is also a soft brown version of this fabric.
