After the longest shift in eternity, the pathologist sat down at the microscope with her last slide of the night. She sighed. 2354 and I haven't even had dinner, she thought. Another night of choosing sleep over nourishment. She loaded the slide onto the stage, and peered into the ocular lens. It was only a minute before she pulled her head back. Could she believe what she just saw? She adjusted the focus. I really am tired, she thought to herself. Are these... hearts?
