I'm not an embroiderer, but when I read design challenge criteria and the word 'template' took me to the outline embroidery my grandma had done for a quilt, kitchen towels and other little projects; so that's where I went with my design. I drew a Victorian Lady design from a Middle Eastern pottery design years ago, and used that at a starting point. I wanted it simple, dainty, yet allowing embroiderers to fill in the flowers with their own style of stitches and colors. A template is just that, a simple framework to pour yourself into. I'm inspired to draw more for a collection of pillows, tea towels or hoops to adorn homes. Nostalgic and homey.
