Pollinators are responsible for most of what we eat and facilitate reproduction of 90% of the world’s flowering plants. Pollinators are absolutely vital in creating and maintaining ecosystems which other animals need. We are seeing a dramatic decline in pollinator populations due to use of pesticides, urban development, habitat destruction, and climate change. We can make a difference by providing our own flowering plants to encourage native pollinators in the area. We can be more aware of the negative affects of pesticides and chemicals on our pollinators, and look for new and natural alternatives.
