They are my attempts at 2 shades of indigo dye, plus an antique-brown-dye effect actually derived from the wood of the stamp. Virtual antique Japanese stamped indigo fabric! __
The background is subtly textured. I like this closely-spaced version for cushions, and looking at it over time, I liked it larger, the size it was in my fabric swatch.__
Oct 2011 update: turns out that although these stamps came from Japan, and were used there to stamp fabric, they were made in India. __
Dec 2012 update: I have adjusted the intensity and contrast to compensate for the duller color in the new printing system, to get back the deep but rich color it had before.
