watercolor pen textile
The chic crispness of dressage in a continuous line drawing meets the flow of watercolor with this watercolor pen textile When spoon flower announced its design challenge for a continuous line drawing, I was excited to give it a try since it varied so much from my usual style, but I wanted to find a way to give it a more painterly/whimsical feel. I ended up deciding on a crisp, continuous line drawing but with a watercolor brush pen. I went over sections of the drawing with a water-sodden paintbrush after it was completed to create a more painterly look to this modern aesthetic. I thought dressage horses would make for a great subject matter for this contest because while dressage is all about crisp, defined lines, horses are often associated with a more free, flowy aesthetic. This design was drawn with watercolor brush pen on cold press watercolor paper, then scanned and arranged digitally. Want a custom fabric design?
