World War One was in full swing and the Kalamazoo Stove Company of Michigan had stoves, ranges, furnaces, gas ranges, and kitchen kabinets (their spelling in the ad) for sale. All you had to do was send away for catalog 247 and you too could have "A KalamaZoo Direct to You." Of course their offer is null and void today since the company closed down in 1952. But it was famous for selling their merchandise direct to the consumer and their sturdy cast iron wares sometimes still survive. (frame 816779)
