In my family, we used to say this on New Year's day: "Bonne année grand nez", and then the other…

person would respond; "Pareillement grandes dents! "

New Year's was a bigger holiday than Christmas in my family. We would all get together at my grand-parents house and exchange gifts and dance and sing and eat Turkey, stuffing and Buche de Noel. They're was a gigantic blue spruce tree in the front yard with all blue lights in it. Everything was blue and white with snow falling softly…I have the best memories of my childhood "Jour de l'an"!
