They were numerous, and spotted often in not so distant times. Now difficult to spot a flock of any size. Occasionally they are in estuaries or on the side of catchment ponds or river's edge. They have adapted to city life, as some have staked out a fast food joints and wait for passersby's to throw them scrapes, that are not part of their original diets. Generally, they look scruffy and not in the best feather- most likely due to their new found diets. Their numbers have dwindled dramatically in the last few years, as their habitats are encroached and pristine habitats destroyed by 'progress'.
