headbands. Suggested Material: Celosia Velvet.
Note: The outline is a 'seam allowance' of sorts. For more pairs per fat quarter, use faux fur for the back! The fur, left untrimmed, or only shaved in the middle of each ummm...section...will look like the little tendrils coming from them! Or! Alternatively attach feather trim between the layers! How To Build: Cut out the gills, and cut down the center so you now have two separate pieces. Put one gill face-down, and glue on a piece of fun foam cut just a bit smaller than the gill. Add wire of your gauge of choice around the edge of the foam. Remember to leave enough wire so that you can attach it to the headband. IF USING FEATHER TRIM FOR TENDRILS, glue your feather trim down on in whatever way looks best to you! Glue the other fabric piece down on top of all that. Trim and primp to your satisfaction. Attach to headband. Repeat for the other side! Most importantly - Enjoy your new Axolotl Gills! Want to show me your results? Tag my instagram - @mewsical_sonata
