“Dragonfly aka DragonRye” Watercolor by Joy Lynn McCavit ~ Artist

I designed this painting out of love for my cousin. I was inspired at a time of great loss for her and her family. At a time when they lost her oldest son Rye at a very young adult age. Three years had gone by and I had only dreamt of the design up until then and finally felt it was time to put watercolor paint to canvas. When her son had passed on, dragonflies had become very dear to her. Well she did not know this about me, but dragonflies have landed on me and I have been mesmerized by their interesting design ever since I was a very young little girl and over the years also deeply intrigued by their symbolism of transformation and adaptability. I really love them and I really love my cousin. This painting was a journey of love, tears and prayers for healing and hope. A way to give my cousin a beautiful dragonfly that would remain with her all year long. I hope that you feel the love and the beauty of transformations and adaptability and healing hope in your life through the beauty I share through this lovely fabric as well.
