The Viceroy is a butterfly, but it sounds like the name of an old hotel or bar from the 70’s. So I thought why not create a pattern with this butterfly for the Retro bug design challenge that looks like wallpaper from the 70’s? Growing up I spent a good deal of my childhood in rooms with dark wood paneling, shag carpets, gold glitter sprayed on the ceiling, with orange furniture and decor. Wouldn’t this look right at home on the walls of a room inspired by this time period? My grandmother had a couch that she didn’t call a couch but a “Davenport”. I think that a “Davenport” upholstered in this fabric would make quite the statement as well. Who’s for bringing back the 70s?
