Weathervanes decorated the prows of a Norse ships. Supported from a metal rod, it was free to rotate, the holes along the edge holding streamers to indicate the direction and intensity of the wind. Ornate and finely wrought in gilded bronze, perfect for inspired design this is made for 42' yards. I love this one for vests and linings. A tease, a puzzle and a muted expression of a classic ( in the truest sense ) design from the 10 century, adopted to a self indulgence this century.
