threads stitched together to form shapes.
This imagery of lace will print one-sided on fabric, wallpaper, decals and gift wrap. It can fit well with wedding decor, tea houses, guest rooms and powder rooms. I might use it as a silk scarf or wall hanging. You might also know this intricate lace technique as reticella, bobbin lace, or point couppe. It was so much quicker drawing than stitching! Some of the imagery used is typical of Venetian bobbin lace from the 1600's. I am experimenting with drawing to simulate lace, so while the foundation of this used lace reference, the design is still drawn (2013).
