I have used this Performance Pique or Organic Ultra Sheen for its ease on the pattern as well as
seeing through while sewing the details.
I left more room if you need more seam line and for sewing leaving extra fabric around the bird help it not catch on the needle. This gives you two crows out of the design and they are about 8 inches after sewing. The grey seam allowance is ok to be seen on finished bird since it goes well with the image.
