Inspired by "PANO DE CHITA (Cheeta)" Chita is a cotton fabric with brightly colored prints, usually floral, and simple plots. The printing is made on the fabric known as calico. A CHITA print feature on other media than calico is not CHITA. The main features are primary and secondary colors in mass plateaus that fully cover the plot, bright colors, graffiti outlining the drawings, and a color cast. Intense colors are used not only to beautify the fabric but also to mask its irregularities, as any gaps and imperfections. The CHITA name comes from the Sanskrit chintz and appeared in medieval India and conquered Europe, before becoming popular in Brazil.
