About the Design

When I was in third grade my elementary school cafeteria used to take celery stalks and spread peanut butter down their concave middles and put that on lunch trays. I considered that about as unpleasant a lunch offering as could be. It was even worse than their "pizza" (which was a hamburger bun with red sauce smeared on it and an X cross of barely melted American cheese on top of that). Thankfully my mother never made me buy their lunch. What that has to do with these gayly colored flowers and twisting vines is when I sat down to describe this my eye was instantly drawn to the arching horizontal green stripe ribbons. And when they run along each other with the bright orange tiger lily heads at each end, they look a whole lot like stalks of celery. This is a very cheerful and bold spring floral design with paisley and daisies, and even a hint of daffodil. But it has that vegetable interloper in the midst of all those blossoms. Yuck. It's celery. (file D21, #3586936)
