About the Design

Rosy headed birds with pale yellow breast and blue wingtips perching on the branches of a blossoming

tree with Pale Celadon Green background.

This species is also known as the rosy-faced lovebird. They are the largest of the lovebird species. Similar to the wild parrots of Telegraph Hill, there is a sizable population of peach-faced lovebirds in Arizona. Lovebirds are cavity dwellers they make their home in holes in trees, rocks or shrubs in the wild. Some species nest in groups, while others pair off to build their nests away from the flock. In urban settings, they might rely on anything from a tree to a crevice in a building. Lovebirds are highly social birds and absolutely love to cuddle. They are affectionate and bond easily with their human companions. They are known to snuggle up against their owners, displaying an unrivaled level of affection. Contrary to popular belief , lovebirds do not die when separated from their partners. They do form strong pair bonds with their partners and can be seen regularly preening each other, sleeping next to each other on a perch or together in the nest box and eating/drinking together.
