All Products for14 billion years ago, it all started with a BIG BANG!!!!

Being a geologist, I was very excited when the Earth Science weekly contest was announced, especially as I've often thought that many of the things we study make beautiful art in their own right. However, as I gradually ran out of time to choose one part of my beloved geology to turn into a fabric design I found I couldn't choose... so ended up doing the whole lot, from the BIG BANG! Represented in this design (from the centre, out) are the initial super-inflation explosion, 'particle soup', the Dark age, the synthesis of atoms (in the transparent universe), the condensation of these gases to form stars, galaxies and solar systems, with the eventual death of the stars represented by black holes. Put into repeat, and you end up with multiple universes.... perhaps in one I am a professional designer rather than a geologist ;-) (see the SWATCH VIEW for DETAILS).
