One of my favorite things to do when I was little was go to the library with my parents when school started in the fall. The library was built over a river and you need to go on a bridge to access the entrance. Before we went in, I would always run to rails of the bridge and look to down to see if there were bright red backs fighting the current. Without fail, there were many little red backs every fall. Until there suddenly weren't. Last year, I walked along the river (upstream from the library entrance) and to my surprise, there they were! Many little red backs fighting up the stream.
