About the Design

Hand-drawn in colored pencil and ink, small sizes of fennec foxes with personalities and fine

details, wild grasses © Nancy Lee Moran

The fabric repeat is 4 x 5 inches, half-drop. Each fox head (without ears) is about 1.25 inches tall. The wallpaper is larger, 6 x 7.5 inches in half-drop. The name "foxtail" is applied to a number of grasses that have bushy spikes that resemble fox tails. Some have spikelets that are hazardous to animals. The ones I included in my drawings are usually safe to animals. Since most of my profession has been in portrait art, I made deliberate, subtle changes of proportion and expression - to add personality and appeal to the foxes.
