The inspiration comes from an Andy Warhol sketch (in turn based on a Herbert Bayer cover design for Harper's Bazaar), as well as an original 1940s print. Although I deliberately kept the abstract feel of the inspiration, I referenced actresses of the 1940s-50s including Lena Horne, Dorothy Dandridge and Sheila Guyse.
