About this design:
The top ten fabrics from this contest are headed for an exhibit at the Textile Center in Minneapolis, where jurors will select their favorite for a grand prize. The people's choice in our voting was Canadian designer Cynthia Frenette's "Take the Detour Route," but all of the top ten offer terrific spins on the contest theme, which centered on the transformation of an urban neighborhood using selected photos as inspiration. Details
Create a fabric based on one or more of the photos on the Textile Center's Urban Sightings page. Judges will choose semifinalists and the community will vote for finalists. Top ten will receive $50 in Spoondollar credit and will also be shown in an exhibition in Textile Center's Community Gallery. The designer selected for the Juror's Choice award during the exhibition will receive a copy of Adobe Photoshop CS5. Previews for the contest will be shown as a quarter yard (21" x 18"). Deadline for entry is Tuesday, March 20, 2012.

- Designs will be viewed as a Fabric on the voting ballot. Acceptable repeat options for this challenge are Basic, Half-Drop, Half-Brick, Mirror, Center.
- Designs previously uploaded on Spoonflower.com are not eligible for this contest. Designs do not require printed proofing to enter the contest.
- The popular vote determines the top 10 winning designs. Voters include Spoonflower artists and customers as well as the public.
