They’re slithery, sneaky, and despite their reputation, sweet! Whether you call them your friend or foe, snakes are an important part of the animal kingdom and should always be celebrated. For this exciting partner challenge with surface pattern designer Mable Tan, feature these reptilian friends in your design.

Snakes come in all sorts of shapes and patterns that you can use as inspiration, such as little green garden snakes found in your backyard or striped snakes with bold and exciting colors. First, second, and third place will receive additional prizes from Mable Tan on top of the regular Design Challenge prizes. We can’t wait to sss-see what you enter!

- Designs will be viewed as a Fat Quarter of Fabric on the voting ballot. Acceptable repeat options for this challenge are Basic, Half-Drop, Half-Brick, Mirror, Center.

- The popular vote determines the top 67 winning designs. Voters include Spoonflower artists and customers as well as the public.

Mable Tan is a surface designer, based in Melbourne, Australia. Her style is whimsical, fun and joyful. Her work is very much inspired by nature and birds. When she’s not drawing, she can be found in the kitchen cooking or going on a walk by the river for some inspiration. “I see my life as something artful - always creating and making it happy, fun and colourful in any way I can.” Her work has been seen in Target Australia, Spotlight, RICE DK.
